Reading Together

Reading Together

Reading to children is important. Through reading, you can teach a great many things, not the least of which is how to read! But it’s not important just for children. Reading is a great family activity. Reading is great for at home date nights. If you find the right book, reading together is a blast

We have really enjoyed reading various things together, whether it was just the two of us or with the kids. It gave us a chance to talk about our ideas, childhood, and so much more. Reading together is a great way to get to know each other and learn about your kids interests.

If you have young children, you might enjoy one of the following books:

Mr. Popper’s Penguins

By Florence and Richard Atwater

——-

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

By Ronald Dahl

——-

My Name is Yoon

By Helen Recorvitz

——-

Finding Winnie: The True story of the World’s Most Famous Bear

By Lindsay Mattick

——-

Knight Owl

By Christopher Denise

Having said that, and having given those suggestions, the most important thing to read as a family is the Scriptures. That will teach your family the most important things in life. It also helps your family learn complicated language. Kids who study the scriptures regularly have a lot less trouble in school with Shakespeare.
