Easy Spaghetti or Pasta Marinara

Easy Spaghetti or Pasta Marinara

This is not a cooking blog. I don’t give measurements for seasonings, because I do not use them. This is just a very basic meal that everyone should know how to cook. It’s nothing fancy, it’s just easy and practical. And its comfort food. This is a needed staple for any family. It is made in one pot, is relatively fast, and relatively cheap, so it’s ideal for a weeknight meal. We make this with spaghetti, rigatoni, penne, and macaroni. It will really work with any noodles you have on hand. If you are really tight on money, you can make it with only half a pound of sausage. If you want to add more vegetables, a can of corn is a welcome addition.

1.Fry up one pound of pork sausage and one yellow onion.

2.Add a pound or a package of pasta and enough water to boil it.

3.Drain. Because this is done in the same pan as the sausage, it will drain off the excess grease as well, making it that much healthier for your family.

4. Add 1 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes.

5. Season. We like to use a pinch of salt and pepper, and a generous amount of Italian seasoning and garlic.

6. Cook until it’s hot and delicious.

This is by far my favorite pan. It is shallow enough to comfortably fry sausage, but deep enough to boil noodles, so it is ideal for this dish.
